Hike through Korouoma Canyon on a small-group expedition to magnificent frozen waterfalls, with a campfire lunch in the heart of Arctic nature.

Korouoma Canyon is a natural wonder formed thousands of years ago, about a 90-minute drive from Rovaniemi. At the bottom of the canyon flows the Korojoki River, surrounded on both sides by cliffs over 100 metres high. Several streams cascade slowly down these cliffs, freezing into magnificent ice falls in the wintertime.

Led by a professional photographer, this expedition takes you to the very best photography spots in the canyon. You hike through beautiful Arctic nature and Nordic forests, while frozen rivers and rugged gorges pierce the snowy scenery on the trail to the frozen waterfall.

You rest around a campfire in the canyon and gaze up at the mighty frozen waterfalls rising from the pure Arctic wilderness. At a lean-to your guide prepares a light lunch over the fire — the finest way to experience forests, ice falls, rivers, cliffs and wilderness in a single day.

A physically demanding expedition, rated activity level 4 out of 5.
A minimum of 2 and a maximum of 8 people per group.
The minimum age is 10 years; a reduced child price is available in the booking calendar.
The tour runs 1 December – 24 April, with an 8:00 departure.
Northern lights and clear weather cannot be guaranteed.
